A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing is an idiom of Biblical origin. It is used of those playing a role contrary to their real character, with whom contact is dangerous. The moral drawn from these is that one’s basic nature eventually betrays itself. – From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This famous phrase describes quite well what I think of Jerry Sandusky. Here you have a man who by all accounts and outward appearances is a successful, well-respected, admired and revered man.
He sports nice clothes, a nice home in what I will assume is nothing less than a nice upper-class neighborhood, and he has a wife and children. All these elements are why it has been so hard for people to believe he would be capable of child rape and molestation.
I say why not? Simply because he is a master of manipulation and he is not the monster you picture when telling your children who to watch out for and be leery of. Upstanding members of society who give back to their community and are seen as helpful and kind and compassionate make preying on what the media calls disadvantaged children easy.
Facing the facts that someone you looked up to respect and value as a model person is in fact a deviant sexual pariah is hard. However I think what is lost on many is the fact that because he “appears” to be so wonderful than his accusers must be the opposite. His accusers must be lowlife scum who would drag Sandusky through the mud.
Can all of these victims be lying? I think more often than not when you have a person such as Sandusky it becomes easy for people to look away or keep quiet about what they may suspect and no one questions it because regardless of their gut instinct “he’s not that kind of guy”.
Society sees Pedophiles as creepy, dirty possibly unemployed derelicts that lurk around playgrounds or elementary schools in vans trying to lure young kids away with promises of candy or help with looking for a lost puppy. Pedophiles are not well dressed, well spoken married men with solid careers and ambition.
This is why it’s so hard for people to believe a priest or minister would ever harm a child, as they are men of god.
I can assure you perversion and deviant sexual desire doesn’t discriminate among class, race or gender, religion or relation.
Women are capable of the same horrible acts as men are. Simply because you don’t hear about it doesn’t mean it never happens.
Having been sexually abused as a child by family members I remain suspicious of all people when it comes to my children. Sad as it may seem to never really trust anyone it’s even sadder when as a child you have to pick up the pieces of yourself after the abuse.
No one who supports Jerry Sandusky is thinking about the lives he’s destroyed. What about the victims? The term innocent until proven guilty is bullshit; we all know that in reality it’s the well off that fare better in the judicial system then people who have little to nothing.
I don’t know personally if he’s guilty as I wasn’t there but what I will say is that anyone in the past 15 years who might have suspected, distrusted or even knew something was off with Sandusky’s interest in young boys should be ashamed of themselves. And I hope when it’s all said and done they bury his fucking ass under the jail!
Yes in my “opinion” the bastard is guilty. I feel bad for his family for not realizing what a fucking monster he is, but I mostly feel bad for the boys he hurt and their families.
